    A Flash Back to the Past

    Members of the Black Deaf community on Gallaudet campus during the Deaf President Now (DPN) movement.

    It was taken on the day of the march to the US Capitol back in 1988. Kneeling in front, Beti Nnansamba (Uganda), a Gallaudet graduate student at the time; Ariyo Shodeke(Nigeria) a graduate of the Golden West College in Huntington Beach, CA who later moved to the DC area. Standing from left: Jubril Rabiu (Nigeria), currently teaching at the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind; Sandi Atuonah (USA) currently working at Gallaudet; Russell Lall(Trinidad & Tobago) currently an IT professional in Reston, VA; Patrick Atuonah (Nigeria) currently working at the Clerc Center; Tola Odusanya (Nigeria), currently an instructor at a teachers training college in Nigeria; Larry Musa (Nigeria) currently Global Education Specialist at Gallaudet; Joseph Kulego (Ghana), currently with the US Postal Service; Slemo Warigon (Nigeria) Slemo was in battle gear, with fatigue pants and French foreign legion hat; Isaac Agboola; John Olumoya(Nigeria), currently an IT professional with the US Dept of Education. All except Ariyo graduated from Gallaudet.
