Slemo D. Warigon
Slemo D. Warigon (CIA, CISA, CICA, MBA) is the Director of Audit and Management Advisory Services at Gallaudet University. He is a certified Internal Auditor. He was born in Nigeria, he graduated from Gallaudet with a BS in Computer Information Systems and Accounting, a MBA in General Business and Systems Management from Texas A&M University-Commerce. He is currently working on Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) with specialty in Information Technology Management at Nova Southeastern University School of Business and Entrepreneurship.
Warigon has written extensively on various aspects of information systems control and security. His articles, case studies and research papers have appeared in numerous professional publications, including Computer Security Journal, Computer Security Alert, Security Management, Internal Auditor, The EDP Audit, Control and Security Newsletter, Data Security Management, and The International Journal for IT Security Professionals. One of his most popular published works was Management By Intimidation: Fraud From The Factor Of Fear (with Betsy Bowers); FRAUD Magazine, Vol. 20, No. 5, September/October 2006; pp. 28-31, 47, 58. The Institute of Internal Auditors presented the 1999 Outstanding Contributor Award to Warigon for his article, "Data Warehouse Control and Security," at its 58th International Conference held in June 1999 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. His article was cited for its outstanding quality, clear presentation of ideas, practicality, and its relevance to the continuing practice of internal auditing.
He is also the founder and administration of a popular list serv, GallyLNet. He is married to Stephanie Hunter Warigon of Arkansas, and have three sons and a daughter. He enjoys meditation, reading, traveling, drawing, and poetry.
