Gallaudet University's Office of Development is seeking applicants for the Development Specialist position.
This position coordinates and provides support for staff involved in development activities; supports the implementation of special events; actively engages in donor visits and solicitations, assists in donor relations, including preparation of correspondences, meeting scheduling, note-taking and supporting assistant directors and directors in preparation for and follow-up meetings; conducts research to identify potential individual, foundation, corporation, and government funding sources; assists with data entry and administration of Raisers Edge; performs donor solicitations as requested/assigned by the Executive Director; assists with the coordination of online giving; coordinates web content and social media; imports and exports data into Raisers Edge; assists with the stewardship process; assists in the development of professional documents for the Executive Director and may lead special projects assigned by the Executive Director of Development.
Bachelor’s degree and minimum two years of work experience required. Excellent professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in MS Office. Ability to produce quality materials within specified timeframes and simultaneously manage multiple time sensitive projects. Must be proactive, interdependent thinker, detail oriented, service oriented, with the ability to work independently as well as with a team in a fast paced environment. Must be willing to travel and maintain a non-traditional schedule. Successful applicant must be proficient in or demonstrate a willingness to learn American Sign Language.
