Detailed Job Description

The Department of Science and Mathematics at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) is seeking to fill a 9-month lecturer (non-tenure-track) faculty position. The successful candidate will:
• Provide tutoring support for deaf and hard-of-hearing students enrolled in baccalaureate-level courses in the biological and health sciences
• Provide direct instruction in biological and health sciences to students in associate-level programs
• Mentor and provide informal advising to students
• Fulfill other faculty expectations including those related to ongoing communication development and service to the university and community

Required Minimum Qualifications

• A master's degree in biology, biology education, biotechnology, biomedical sciences, molecular bioscience, a related field in a biological and/or health science, or in education with an emphasis in the biological and/or health sciences. Applications will be considered from applicants who have an undergraduate degree in the biological or health sciences and a graduate degree in education. Applicants who are currently working toward the completion of a graduate degree in any of these areas will also be considered but the degree must be officially conferred prior to hire.
• Prior teaching and/or tutoring experience in the biological and/or health sciences
• Proficiency in American Sign Language
