Detailed Job Description
The Assistant Director for NTID's Office of Online Learning assists with designing online instruction for a range of demographics including Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing students, faculty and adult learners; for a variety of modes including online synchronous, online asynchronous, blended, and HyFlex to support the development of accessible credit-bearing courses, career-focused training, webinars and professional development training. Essential to this role is familiarity with the Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing user experience (UX); and the importance of providing meaningful opportunities for them to interact with the online instructor, content and each other.
NTID's Office of Online Learning is responsible for supporting NTID online instructors and programs. This includes assistance with designing engaging online courses and expanding online initiatives for Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing learners.

Required Minimum Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years’ proven working experience designing materials for online instruction
• Experience with digital technologies and curriculum planning skills
• Experience with course development software and hands-on experience with at least one Learning Management System (LMS)
• Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and WCAG 2.0
• Able to articulate the difference between in-person vs online pedagogy
• Experience providing direct service and/or consulting to others
• Experience designing instruction for Deaf/hard-of-hearing learners
• Able to manage multiple projects
• Able to communicate in English and writing
• Visual design skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
• Proficiency/Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) communication skills strongly preferred.
